MEET BRENDON STARK

Brendon is first and foremost a father and husband. He is entering into the political arena to help create a stronger, more honest, and fairer community for his friends, family, and neighbors. As committeeman, Brendon’s goal is to promote higher voter engagement, support high-quality candidates, and serve the best interests of Lemont through politics and community service.

Brendon is a career public servant running for Democratic Committeeman in Lemont. Throughout his professional career, Brendon has been committed to protecting working families and standing up for those who need an advocate the most. He spent ten years as a Cook County prosecutor, primarily assigned to the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence divisions, where he worked closely with survivors to ensure justice and accountability. He also served as a public defender, gaining firsthand experience with the importance of fair representation and due process for all.

Brendon currently serves as a supervising Administrative Law Judge handling property tax appeal cases, where he is directly involved in matters involving homeowners across Cook County. In that role, he wrote thousands of decisions that adjusted the taxpayer’s assessment based on equity and the weight of the evidence. His work reflects a deep belief that government should work efficiently, transparently, and fairly for the people it serves—especially when it comes to something as personal and important as one’s home.

A proud former union steward for AFSCME 31, Brendon firmly believes that unions are the backbone of the middle class. He understands the vital role organized labor plays in protecting wages, benefits, and workplace dignity, and he has carried those values with him throughout his career. Brendon has consistently supported policies and leaders that strengthen labor rights and ensure that working people have a real voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

Brendon lives in Lemont with his wife and their three young sons, and he is deeply invested in the future of the community they call home. He currently serves as Treasurer of the South Suburban Bar Association, previously sat on the Board of Managers of the Chicago Bar Association, and is a long-time member of the Arab American Bar Association. Brendon also volunteers his time teaching high school students trial advocacy and public speaking, helping young people build confidence and civic engagement. As Democratic Committeeman, he is committed to strengthening the party at the grassroots level and ensuring Lemont’s values are well represented.
